April 13, 2014, Dumanjug, Cebu Philippines: Patrick Switzer (Canada) proved that he is still the fastest man on the hills of Dumanjug when he flawlessly earned the title of being the first champion of the 1st IDF world qualifying race in the Philippines followed by Dandoy Tongco (Philippines), Billy Bones Meiners (USA) in third and Dean Mondt (Netherlands) in fourth place during the 3rd leg of the 5th Visayan Longboarding Trilogy last April 13, 2014.
Dandoy Tongco, 5th VLT traditional race champion trailing behind his good friend and mentor Patrick Switzer during the wet and stoke IDF world qualifying series in Dumanjug, Cebu Philippines.
Patrick won his first race in Dumanjug during the 3rd Visayan Longboarding Trilogy way back in 2012. Since then, Switzer fell in love with the Philippines. Patrick maintained his speed and momentum during the entire race. Everyone thought that the rain will have an effect in the performance of the racers giving them more challenging heats. Dandoy Tongco, one of Philippines’ top caliber downhill racers placed 2nd. Dandoy and Patrick almost lost their standings during the finals when they had a crucial board contact during the final race. (See IDF article, Dumajug stoke, click here.)

In the women’s division, Tamara Prader (Switzerland) secured the championship title over Ayumi Oride (Japan), Kara Urbiztondo (Philippines and Gemma Holland (Austalia).

The juniors division scored a highly favorable heat battle from the crowed as the young and talented athletes battled it out in a wet asphalt pavement of Dumajug. It was Pantoy Solasco, the Dumajug’s local crowed favorite snatched the victory over his long time friend and fellow Grupo Nopo brother Bodeck Rauyan (Philippines), Harry Clarke (Hongkong) and RJ (Philippines).
